Ages 6-12 – The purpose of the youth program is to promote fun, skill development, and an understanding of the sport of triathlon. Developing coordination, basic motor skills, and safety will be the emphasis.
Ages 13-15 – Participants will be mastering swim, bike, and run technique while building a base of training to support age appropriate distance progressions.

**Participants must be able to swim 50 meters, bike 2 miles, and run 400 meters without stopping to be eligible for the program

  • -Two weekly practices
    • 1. Monday 5:30-6:30PM at Phoenix Swim Club (swim and run emphasis)
    • 2. Wednesday 4:30-5:30PM at Multisport Training Center (bike and run emphasis)
  • Multiple coaches at each practice
  • Youth 11 and under require parents to remain on site during practice
  • Coaches will be available for 10 minutes after each practice for questions
  • 10% discount for multiple children per family
  • Program tech t-shirt/jersey

Equipment (supplied by participant)
Swim Required: swim suit, swim goggles, water bottle Optional: Fins, pull buoy, wetsuit
Bike Required: bicycle in good working condition (road, mountain, or triathlon), helmet, eyewear, cycling shoes, water bottles, cyclocomputer, cycling clothes, Floor Pump Optional: cycling gloves

Participants will be mastering swim, bike, and run technique while building a base of training to support age appropriate distance progressions. The training program will prepare the athletes for competition (draft legal and non-drafting races). The most competitive athletes will travel to national and international events.

This is an ongoing training program ($210/month) based around the participant’s desires and goals in the sport. Training will be focused on the athlete’s needs, strengths and weaknesses, to prepare him/her for triathlon competition. Athletes will be given a written training plan to follow which will include weekly practices with the training group. Swim practice will be at the Phoenix Swim Club with day and time to be determined by PSC based on an initial swim assessment. The participant will receive a race jersey to represent the Durapulse TriKids Junior Race Team.
